The vision of Isaiah, son of Amos, about Judah and Jerusalem: In the days to come, the mountain of the house of the Lord will be established as the highest of the mountains, and it will be raised above the hills; all nations will stream to it. 

Many peoples will come and say: “Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob, that he teach us his ways and that we walk in his paths. For out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.” 

He shall judge between the nations and shall arbitrate for many people; they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore.   O house of Jacob, come, let us walk in the light of the Lord.

Reflection 

In Isaiah 4:2-6, the prophet presents a vision of hope and restoration for the people of Israel after a period of judgment and desolation. The “Branch of the Lord” is mentioned as a figure of salvation and beauty, symbolizing the restoration of God’s glory among His people. This branch will be a sign of justice and splendor, and those who stay in Zion will be considered holy. The passage also describes the divine protection that will be offered to Jerusalem, where a cloud of glory will be established by day and a shining fire by night, symbolizing God’s presence and guidance. Together, Isaiah 4:2-6 communicates a message of hope, indicating that despite difficulties, God will restore His people and give them security and protection in His presence.
